Today was the short ride to Austin, but rain and hills made it more difficult than planned. As I pulled into the city limits I was taken on beautiful trails, passing parks, Frisbee Golf Courses and hundreds of people running, and cycling and I knew that Austin was my kind of city, and man was I right abut that!
I found my way to the home of Beverly and Tommy, parents of a friend of mine from Statesboro. Beverly greeted us along with their Cocker Spaniel, Charlotte, as I unloaded my things and got settled in. My parents and sister had decided a few weeks ago to fly out and meet me in Austin for Easter Weekend. Unk and I met them for dinner and we all enjoyed some Texas-style steaks. I was exhausted from the long days of riding- the leg from El Paso to Austin was much harder than I originally planned it to be and I needed some rest.
