Today I arrived at the home of the amazingly gracious Mazur family. They were one of the first to sponsor the trip, and I was really looking forward to seeing them. They run GraceWay, a women’s recovery residence. They also operate a healthy bakery, The Breadhouse, that employs many of the women that live at GraceWay. I pedaled a flat 90 miles to the house to be greeted by their son and my good friend Josh. Josh and I met each other in Statesboro and have been friends for the past couple of years.
Josh suggested we go explore the river behind his house as the weather was good at the moment, and forecasted for rain the following day. We went on the “Janoe” which is a mix between a John Boat and a canoe. This was an awesome way to see Albany and we closed the night by eating copious amounts of pizza followed by using their steam room which prompted me to immediately fall asleep. I needed all the rest I could get for speaking the next day!
